U12 cup semi final report: Stradbally 0 Mooncoin Celtic 1

Nerves a plenty at the start of this semi final as Derek’s young squad faced a Stradbally side who had beaten them twice in the season. A game to remember for all of them as a large crowd from Mooncoin cheered them on. A 50/50 first half with a number of chances created by both sides but Stradbally couldn’t find a way past Jake Moore. The second half had a similar trend with little given by either side with Jake Moore again keeping Stradbally out with save after save. 7 minutes left on the clock and Mooncoin Celtic were awarded a free kick 25 yards out and a masterstroke of a move from Derek Tebay when he beckoned Jake Moore from the goal to take the free kick. Jake stood over the ball with the crowd watching in anticipation. A sweet strike over the wall and nestled in the top corner. Ya couldn’t write it in fairness. The scenes of celebration afterwards will be remembered for a long time.
So now, a cup final awaits on Saturday morning in Tramore against Kilmacow. Kick off 10.30.

Tell everyone to get themselves, their families, their friends and even their dogs out to Tramore as this squad deserve your support on Saturday. One step left.

COME ON MOONCOIN CELTIC!
