A disappointing result after leading the game up until the last quarter. The lads led going into half time after Sean Drennan bundled the ball home. Unfortunately the lads ran out of steam and got hit on the break 3 times before the full time whistle.

Fixtures for the weekend
Fixtures for the weekend:
Saturday: U11 Blue squad home to Tramore, kick off 10.30
This squad continue to grow in confidence with every game and were very impressive in their last outing in Ferrybank. U11 Orange squad away to DLS, kick off 12.15. Only the second game for this group who have been plugging away at training and helping out the other squad and a number of them have been playing u12, so rustiness shouldn’t be a problem.
U13 home to DLS B, kick off 12noon: One of these sides will break their duck this weekend as both sit pointless to date. The lads have shown glimpses of what they are capable of so hopefully tomorrow is the day they get off the mark.
Sunday: 2B home to DLS, kick off 11am. The boys will be looking to keep the run going with 3 points here after lasts weeks terrific win in Carrick. A couple of midweek additions to the squad will strengthen them aswell as they aim to stretch their lead at the top.
Youths away to Kilmacow, kick off 2pm A derby match for the boys who put in their best performance of the season last weekend. Little motivation will be required for this one in what should be a cracker. Best of luck to all teams this weekend.
The academy continues this evening in Carrigeen Astro turf from 6-7pm for the 2011-2013 group and 7-8pm for the 2009-2010 group. Anyone interested in helping out please pop down.
Finally the club are still on the lookout for coaches for u11 Orange squad. If you can spare 2 hours a week for training and a couple hours every 2 weeks for matches, then please get in touch.
Memory lane this day 20 years
A trip down memory lane today as its 20 years today November 15th that one of the most bizarre and entertaining games took place in the 3rd round of the FAI junior cup between ourselves and Rosegreen Rangers from Tipperary in McGrath’s field, Dournane. As stated in the report, an extraordinary game which was held up for nearly an hour due to a bad injury suffered by a Rosegreen player, will be remembered for a long long time.
The line up on the day was: Andrew Norris, Terence Coffey, Kevin Dobbyn, John Sauvage, Mark Dobbyn, Paul Brady, Stephen Walsh, Lee Kelly, Robbie Kelly, Ian Murray, Trevor Dunphy. Subs Eoin Hennigan, John Ryan, Liam Sutton. Can anyone name the finishing 7 is the golden question? Or it might be easier to name the unlucky 4 that were red carded. The team headed into the open draw in the 4th round and had an away trip to Harps FC of Carlow in early December but that’s where the fairytale ended unfortunately with a 3-1 defeat. Good day was had by all in Carlow town afterwards though.
