A stubborn Abbeyside team lined out with only 10 players and we found the going tough on a sticky pitch and we missed a bag of chances in first half. Eventually we broke them down 10 minutes in to the second half, a cross from Ian Synnott deflected in for og to open the scoring. The evergreen Gerry Walsh found Tommy Nolan with a lovely through ball and Tommy put us 2 up with a good finish. After good work by Lee Kelly, Andrew Chucky Norris was taken down for a peno and dusted himself down to convert it himself. Chucky was man of match, working tirelessly up and down the pitch throughout. We defended well and delighted with a clean sheet, will have to improve on our finishing against better teams if we’re going to challenge for league. Good three points for Scoby’s charges. De La Salle are up next week.
