Bragging rights in the derby went to Granagh this evening in blustery conditions but 3 soft goals conceded did not help matters for the lads. Neville Synnott and Shane Twomey got on the score sheet and with a little bit of luck a draw could have been snatched towards the end. St Joseph’s are next up at home next Wednesday evening.
New pitch drainage
Drainage work is ongoing in Suir Crescent with slit drainage being carried out this week. Also, weather permitting this week will see more work on fencing and ball stop netting start.
2B Result: Mooncoin Celtic 0 Tycor 2
A disappointing result and performance to kick off the season. Two early goals left the lads with an uphill battle. Plenty of possession throughout but little return in the final third of the pitch was our downfall. A day best forgotten.
3rd Division: Mooncoin Celtic 4 Kilmacthomas 0
Solid start with goals by JP Purcell, Jamie Moore, Eric Walsh and Sean Grace. Plenty room for improvement but a good start nonetheless.
Youths A result: Mooncoin Celtic 2 Bohs 1
Youths A result:
Mooncoin Celtic 2 Bohs 1
Kieran Fagan 16
Ryan O Grady 21
Great work lads well done

Next phase of works on our new pitch
After a little wait due to a number of reasons, the next phase of works on our new pitch development started this morning with Gary Flood and team commencing drainage works. Over the next few weeks, drainage works, security fencing, ball stop netting and hedging of the boundary will all be completed all going well. None of this work or previous works to date would have been possible without the support of our 300 club syndicate and Finance Committee steering it, so a massive thank you to all for their support. Exciting times just around the corner.
New ground update
Some work recently carried out in the new grounds. Trees were cut back and removed to allow for security fencing and ball stop netting to be put up in the coming weeks.
