180 have entered our last man standing competition and we had a very nervous 126 people who were on Arsenal but thankfully a late late winner secured a passage to round two. We did lose 11 so far with a couple on Fulham.
Congratulations to our most recent academy player of the week winners, Damien S, Tyler O’B, Luke J and Callum N. Thanks as always to Blanchfields Centra for their kind sponsorship of these awards.
We will be hosting our Easter Camp in conjunction with Football Academy of Ireland in Suir Crescent under the expert eyes of Darren Murray and his team of coaches. Be sure to book early to secure your child’s place.

Congratulations to three of our underage schoolgirls, Ciara O’Keeffe, Ciara Corcoran and Sommer Grant who have been selected in the Waterford U19 Gaynor squad for the upcoming inter league games.
Pictured above are Ciara O’Keeffe and Ciara Corcoran before a warm up friendly this evening.
An entertaining game played in sunny conditions this morning between two mid table teams.
Villa got an early penalty after a misjudged bounce caught Derek Tebay off guard and forced a foul. We responded quickly with the impressive Jonny Power causing trouble in the villa box to force our own penalty which Sean Grace buried.
The game swung from end to end throughout and we looked to have nicked the three points through Kieran Fagan but a late late corner was rifled home for a share of the spoils. First game in 6 weeks but no sign of rustiness from our boys today.
The girls showed great fight and spirit against a tall Park Rangers team this morning.
After a scoreless first half where there was very little between the teams it was Park Rangers who pulled away with two goals in the second half to end the morning Mooncoin 0-Park Rangers 2.
Keep up the hard work girls ⚽💪
A flat performance from our young side who didn’t get going at all today. Cloughbawn got two very good goals that Grace O Toole could do very little with.
The last 15 minutes saw us dominate but we could not get an equaliser after Emily Blackmore dragged us back in to the game with a rocket of a finish on 75 minutes.
This will definitely be remembered as the one that got away this season.
Mooncoin dominated the majority of the game with most of the action coming down the left side. Sean and Aaron both had good chances early on. Cian quickly squared the ball to Aaron on the edge of the box following a fast throw in from Billy.
Aaron shifted the ball from left to right foot on the run and powered a shot into the top corner for 1-0. The boys continued to dominate and were unlucky not to get a penalty when a Ballinroad defender momentarily caught the ball with both hands in their penalty area.
Fortunately for the home team the referee was the only person on the pitch not to see this.
The lads continued to perform admirably in the second half with Cian and Jason attacking well on the flanks but the finish was lacking on the day.
Ballinroad pounced on a short pass back to make it all square and with Mooncoin pushing for a second goal they again punished us for a loose break of the ball in the dying seconds.
It was the best performance of the season from our lads and if they keep this up the results will certainly follow.
It was a day to forget for the u12B lads as a free-scoring albeit fortunate Tramore came to town and scored with a follow up from a good save, a rebound off the crossbar from a penalty and a deflected effort being some of the highlights from their four first half goals.
Mooncoin fought hard in the second half and created a number of chances, one of which was saved on the line with Tramore scoring from the resultant breakaway.
The last goal was probably fortunate also. 6-0 to the visitors.
