A trip down memory lane today as its 20 years today November 15th that one of the most bizarre and entertaining games took place in the 3rd round of the FAI junior cup between ourselves and Rosegreen Rangers from Tipperary in McGrath’s field, Dournane. As stated in the report, an extraordinary game which was held up for nearly an hour due to a bad injury suffered by a Rosegreen player, will be remembered for a long long time.
The line up on the day was: Andrew Norris, Terence Coffey, Kevin Dobbyn, John Sauvage, Mark Dobbyn, Paul Brady, Stephen Walsh, Lee Kelly, Robbie Kelly, Ian Murray, Trevor Dunphy. Subs Eoin Hennigan, John Ryan, Liam Sutton. Can anyone name the finishing 7 is the golden question? Or it might be easier to name the unlucky 4 that were red carded. The team headed into the open draw in the 4th round and had an away trip to Harps FC of Carlow in early December but that’s where the fairytale ended unfortunately with a 3-1 defeat. Good day was had by all in Carlow town afterwards though.
