A scoreless draw to open their league campaign today against a tricky Park Rangers side who had a few chances themselves. Mark Walsh, who played his first game with the club in 24 years, went close in the first half followed by Scoby clipping the bar.
Barry Hearne pulled off two good saves to keep the teams level. The second half was something similar with half chances going to both sides. Mick Dwyer went closest for ourselves with Barry again standing up to the couple of chances Park Rangers had. A point was probably the fairest result on a very warn morning.
After the game, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations, Kevin Kennedy was presented with an appreciation award for his work with the club both on and the off the field over the last 20 years. Well deserved award.
