A stubborn Abbeyside team lined out with only 10 players and we found the going tough on a sticky pitch and we missed a bag of chances in first half. Eventually we broke them down 10 minutes in to the second half, a cross from Ian Synnott deflected in for og to open the scoring. The evergreen Gerry Walsh found Tommy Nolan with a lovely through ball and Tommy put us 2 up with a good finish. After good work by Lee Kelly, Andrew Chucky Norris was taken down for a peno and dusted himself down to convert it himself. Chucky was man of match, working tirelessly up and down the pitch throughout. We defended well and delighted with a clean sheet, will have to improve on our finishing against better teams if we’re going to challenge for league. Good three points for Scoby’s charges. De La Salle are up next week.

3rd Division Result Mooncoin Celtic 6 Piltown 1
An excellent performance this morning secured three points in this derby match. A couple of new signings helped boost the fitness with all the squad on the day playing their part.
Goals came from Joey O’Hanlon with two crackers….yes Joey O’Hanlon, Kipper with another two…..we won’t mention the penalty miss, didn’t even hit the target!
Adam Cunningham and Peter Dunlea got the others. Excellent football played for the entire game.
Hopefully, corner turned for this bunch now.

A couple on Leicester tomorrow but 48 live to fight another day after today’s results.
