We started very well against the champions elect and had a couple of half chances before Carrick started to get into it. A good free kick put Carrick 1 up but again Mooncoin pressed and were unlucky not to level when a ball flew across the Carrick goal line and just missed Evan Clearys toe (a bad miss). 2nd half was tit for tat throughout. Liam Quinn mistimed a tackle & Carrick won a peno to make it 2-0. Again we pressed and Jack Conway taught he had scored only to be ruled offside, with 5 minutes left Carrick wrapped it up and deservedly clinched a competitive league.
