Rockys Send Off

The club would like to thank all who attended the send off we gave Rocky this morning. A bubbly character is gone but definitely will not be forgotten. A big thank you to the boys, girls and men who formed the guard of honour on both the removal yesterday and the church yard this morning. We know this man will look over us and do his best to guide us to a trophy or 2 in the coming months. One player who Rocky would be rooting for is u12 player Emily Blackmore who travels tomorrow in the Waterford u12 girls development squad who play in a blitz in Cork. The best of luck from all within the club.

In honour of Rocky tonight

The club would like to thank all members, current players, former players and most importantly schoolboy players for putting on the guard of honour for Rocky tonight. Tomorrow we lay our friend and coach to rest and we are asking all members to form a guard of honour outside the church after the mass for his final journey.

20K Drop Event Postponed

We are asking everyone to please share this post.

All sponsors and advertisers will be contacted in the next 24 hours.

RIP Coach Rocky

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the sad news of the passing of our u12 coach Jeremy Rothwell, better known to us all as ‘Rocky’ or to the many kids as ‘Coach Rocky’. He was an extremely popular man with all the kids he dealt with over the years and will be fondly remembered as one of the most successful schoolboy managers the club has ever had with a number of leagues and cups secured with different sides over the last 15 years.

We will post about the funeral details once they are announced.

RIP Rocky. You’ve left a long lasting impression on all that you have coached and all the members of our club .

Our sincere condolences to Mary and the family.

Fixture for tomorrow

2b away to Waterford Crystal, kick off 6.30.
Our 2B side will look to put Saturdays defeat behind them and take one of three steps to the title. Crystal will be a dangerous outfit as they always like to play ball but the boys should be well up for it.
The lads would love support tomorrow evening in the RSC back pitch in a big big game for the club, in the Last Big push for this league title , hon the coin !!

2B result: Tramore 2-0 Mooncoin Celtic

It took time to come but last night it finally came. The 2b’s lost our first league game of the campaign and to a well deserved tramore side. The opening 15mins Mooncoin were the dominant side and pressed tramore but creating minimum chances. Tramore changed their formation and for the remainder of the half we were unable to get to grips. Tramore broke the deadlock on the half hour, a run From the centre circle was unchallenged and riffled shot into top corner of the net left O’Keeffe with no chance. Mooncoin changed tactics themselves at half time and looked a much improved side. To our dismay we would never find the higher gears to create the chance to bring us back level. Tramore made it 2-0 soon after, they brought it around the keeper, McGrath got back to stop it on the line but didn’t get the ball clear and the ball was slotted into an empty net. The squad must pick themselves up quickly as they face Waterford Crystal on Tuesday night. 3 games remain. 9pts required. HON THE COIN

Busy day for our academy kids

A busy day for our academy kids with all age groups playing games today. First up were the U8 and U9s who travelled to Carrick this morning and played a series of games in the wonderful facilities in Tom Drohan park.

Next up at 5pm in Piltown were the academy girls who really have improved beyond belief. Since their debut game a couple of months back against Piltown, the girls have knuckled down in training and this evening showed skill and determination to match Piltown all the way in the 4 games. Very proud coaches after this one.

After the girls came the U6 and U7 boys against Piltown and a derby battle ensued with little given away in the u6 game and the u7 battling hard against a physically stronger Piltown side.

Great to get games on a very rare fine day. Massive thanks to the coaches for giving up their time today, much appreciated by the club. To all the parents for the support today, a big thank you. It made a massive difference to the kids.

Thanks to Carrick and Piltown for hosting us in their excellent facilities.

Finally well done to each and every boy and girl today for putting on great entertainment.
