This was to be the last roll of the dice for The away side and for the home side, to try get one foot in the door of winning their first league title since 2003. Carrick dominated the first 20 minutes and pressed high up the field in an attempt to crack the Mooncoin resilience. Carrick pressed again second half for period but never created that killer chance. The home side had two fantastic opportunities to take the lead. The first was a scramble in the box, kavanagh and debutant Dowley had close range effort denied and the follow up blazed wide. The winner came deep in injury time.
