U13 cup result: Bohs C 2 Mooncoin Celtic 3

A depleted u13 squad travelled to Poleberry yesterday to take on a Bohs side who had knocked 5 past them in the league. A number of u12s were called up as injuries and holidays left the lads short. The lads started strongly with Victor having them laid out to stifle the Bohs attack but hit them on the break. The first goal arrived through Eoin o Callaghan. Conor Dermody and Mike O’Keeffe worked the ball down the centre of the pitch where Eoin broke on to it and took a shot which travelled over the head and out of the reach of the Bohs goal keeper and finished up in the net. With the Mooncoin defenders on top and well in tune with each other, Bohs were finding it difficult to break down a determined back line. Tom Conway was solid in the middle of the park also protecting the defence when required.
The second goal arrived shortly after kick off of the second half. After a bit of jostling between both sides in the middle of the field an inform Brian Dunphy spotted the chance to pass to Emily Blackmore who took off towards goal and made no mistake in finishing to the roof of the net. With Bohs shellshocked, the lads could sniff more chances. After a battle for the ball in the bottom corner of the field we worked the ball in with a few chances to finish in the scramble before Eoin o Callaghan finished to net to make it 3 nil. We conceded our first goal shortly after and then the 2nd goal was pulled back about ten minutes later, it was Bohs who could sniff more goals and for the last ten minutes Mooncoin Celtic battled like their lives depended on it. After leading by 3, they were not going to lose this match. Jake Moore made two lovely saves close to the end to seal the deal. To run down the clock and inject fresh legs, Will Cuddihy came on for Conor Dermody and Ben O Hanlon came on for Brian Dunphy to see out the game. A brilliant performance by all the squad. Railway at home on Thursday evening at 6.30 in the quarter final. Go on Mooncoin Celtic!!
