4th Division Result: Kilmacow 3 Mooncoin Celtic 4

Apologies for the late match report from sunday’s derby.
You look at the scoreline and one would think it was an absolute cracker but anyone present would have witnessed a calamity of errors where both teams thought it was Christmas such were the gifts on offer to each other.
Mooncoin Celtic went 1up after Tommy Nolan pounced on a mistake from the Kilmacow keeper to tap in. Kilmacow equalized following a mix up between Blackie and Darragh at the near post. Kilmacow then went 2-1 ahead after a bad throw out from Daragh to Johnny McGrath and Kilmacow pounced. Gerry Walsh then missed a penalty before half time. A cross from Ian Synnott looped over the Kilmacow keeper to make 2-2 and again poor defending let Kilmacow go 3-2 up. Everyone thought that was that but back came the lads with the deadly left foot of Stephen Blackmore rescuing the situation with a corner swinging all the way to the top corner. The old saying lightning never strikes in the same spot twice can be banished in Kilmacow as up stepped Stephen Blackmore who delivered corner number 2 direct to the top corner in the last minute. The Kilmacow keeper will be having nightmares about that left foot for a long time yet. Overall a very poor performance but six points out of six but nothing will be won with a repeat of this showing. Stephen Blackmore with the most famous left foot since Christy Brown is the only player to deserve any credit out of this one, we’ll take points and move on. Special mention and speedy recovery to Neville Synnott who’s glass ankle came back to haunt him after only 10 minutes and also the returning Golden Boots Mick Foran who made his mark late on.
