A hugely entertaining game against neighbors Piltown with little or nothing between the two sides. Both sides made loads of chances that should have been put away but it was one of those days. Piltown started to dictate the run of the game after 20 mins but against the run of play. Liam Mackey gave a beautiful thru ball to Marcos to leave him 1 on 1 with the keeper. After a great attempted save Marcos Bometon found the corner of the net. Again Piltown stepped it up and equalised before half time deservedly. After the break we started to find more space in behind the defenders and we started created some chances. Lots of which we should have converted. Fortunately we did take the lead with Liam Mackey putting us 2-1 up. Piltown didn’t give and kept coming at us but we were after finding a bit of an edge upfront. Emmett Cusack had a few chances but was clear on goal and taken down in the box. Liam Mackey converted the penalty to put us 3-1 up. Both teams finished off the game with more chances to score but we held out for the 3 points with the game being steadied by our three subs. Great team performance all round but and a few stand out ones in Micheal Murphy, Ben Buckley, Josh McLaughlin, Cian O’Leary and a safe pair of hands in goal Emily Blackmore. Man of the Match must go to Liam Mackey.. All credit to the team. Emily Blackmore, Cian O’Leary, Cormac Fenton, Gavin Coady, Ben Buckley, Josh McLaughlin, Lucas Delahunty, Micheal Murphy, Liam Mackey, Marcos Bometon, Emmett Cusack. Subs who came one were Ben Dawson, Adam Corcoran, Eoghan Drennan. Huge praise for a very good Piltown team and best of luck for the rest of the season.
