Five wins on the trot for the lads,improving each game . Wholesale changes at half time with 8 subs and 2 -1 down after Ciro Kibinski opened the scoring. Second half goals from TJ Cuddihy and a brace from Aaron Foran sealed the win

U15 Result Mooncoin 4 De La Salle 1

After a little slip up to give DLS the lead in the first 5 minutes, the lads put the foot on the gas and were 4-1 up by half time and comfortably held on to the lead for the second half.

U13A Result Mooncoin 3 Tramore 1

Another excellent performance from our lads, with our temporary home proving again to be a happy hunting ground for the boys and a 3-1 scoreline very flattering to Tramore. On another day we could have hit double figures.Surprisingly enough for a 10.30 kick off we were out of the blocks quickly with Tadgh Mackey scoring with a glorious lobbed finish from the right hand side of the area after 4 minutes. That set the tone for much of the remainder of the game as the work rate on show all over the pitch was incredible we have to single out Aaron Walsh for special mention.We missed some good chance during the rest of the half before Tom Dunphy doubled our lead shortly before the break.The second half continued in much the same vain as we passed up numerous chances as our front 4 tormented the Tramore rearguard with Tadgh Mackey at the centre of most of the torture.With time ticking down we gave ourselves something to think about as Tramore got on the scoresheet with a rare foray into our half, but Oisin O’Hanlon put the game to bed a minute into stoppage time with a penalty that was dispatched into the top left hand corner of the net.

U13 girls result Kilmacthomas 0 Mooncoin Celtic 5

Great start to the season for the girls. For most of them it was their first competitive game playing 11 aside and full pitch, so delighted with the win and clean sheet.

Great start to the season, all seventeen girls on duty today playing their part.

U14 Result Kilmac 1 Mooncoin 2

Scorers- Shane Mackey and Tom Ryan.

Again the lads worked very hard and got two great goals.We played some very nice football at times and showed great resilience and character in the last 10 mins to get the win

U16 Result Mooncoin 1-5 Tramore

With only 11 players available we done our best with a few younger players called up also. We went 1 up but conceded shortly after. We kept it at 1 all until the last 20 minute’s when Tramore’s fresh legs made the difference

U12 Mooncoin 0-5 Tramore

Brand new team with a mix of u12s u11s and u13s girls ran themselves into the ground today, plenty positives to take from the game, but 5 soft goals gave Tramore all 3 points.

U12B Villa v MCFC 1-4.

A fantastic start to the season. 2 goals each from April Morrissey and Emma O’Keeffe. Great support from the rest of the team against a solid Villa team.

U18A Bohs 1 Mooncoin 4

Our u18s first run out to defend our league title away to Bohs got off to a great start when Alexi Walsh slotted home early in the first half. A break of play shortly after allowed Bohs to equalise. Despite a number of chances and pressure on the bohs goal we went into the break 1-1. The girls however stepped it up another gear in the second half and the pressure proved too much for the bohs defence. 2 goals from Sophie Phelan and another from Alexi with a superb finish sealed the win. An excellent team performance and start to the new season.

3B Seaview Celtic 2 Mooncoin Celtic 0

Recent cup winners Seaview took all three points on a breezy Sunday morning with a goal in each half with plenty of chances for both sides throughout also. Congratulations to Seaview on their recent cup win.

U14B Tramore 0 Mooncoin 5

We played the first half against a strong breeze. The girls defended brilliantly and had some chances but just didn’t convert. 0-0 at halftime. We decided to move Maria Dunphy up front to use her pace and it paid dividends in first 10 minutes of 2nd half. She set up eabha for the first and then scored a brilliant goal herself to make it 2-0. We were on top all over the field and Maria combined again with Sarah who finished like a top striker does. The fourth goal was worth the wait as Maeve struck from outside the box and the ball nestled in the top corner. And last but not least Gwyn stepped forward for a free kick and riffled it to the net from 22 yards out. 5-0 it finished great team performance

U13 Boys B League Result

Mooncoin Celtic 2 Villa 1

A great start was made to the U13B league today in Grannagh, as we came out on top by the odd goal in 3 against a well organized Villa team, when our boys stepped out onto the full size pitch for the first time as a team together.

There was no signs in the early stages of the very short preseason we’ve had together and we were unfortunate to find ourselves a goal behind halfway through the 1st half through a well struck free kick.
We rolled up the sleeves and drew ourselves level minutes later when Edmond Murphy was up ended inside the villa penalty area, our no.9 dusted himself off to convert from 12 yards and get himself off the mark for the  season.
So level at halftime, an evenly fought contest was decided by another set piece when we were awarded a free kick 10 minutes into the 2nd half. Up stepped Oisin O’Hanlon, our tenacious left back, to crash a strike off the underside of the crossbar and into the net.
The boys can be very proud of the performance throughout but in particular the final 20 minutes after going ahead, when they showed great resilience to keep out everything the villa could throw at them lead by captain TJ Curran.

U11 Boys League Result
Dungarvan 3 Mooncoin 5

Our u11s got off to a flyer in their opening game of the season with a well deserved win in Dungarvan. Kieran Quinn opened the scoring combining well with Michael Foran up front. Michael soon put in Huey O Hanlon Blanc for his first of 2 great goals. Leading 3-0 at the break 6 changes were made and we started to struggle with Dungarvan pulling it back to 3-2 before Ciro Kibinski got his first of the season with a great finish. Dungarvan scored soon after making for a tense finish at 4-3 before Ciro bagged his second in the last few minutes to seal the win for the boys. Epic scenes ! Congratulations to the boys on their first competitive win at the first attempt
