The scoreline says it all, Mooncoin Celtic led 3-0 at half time thanks to goals from James McTighe and two from Ryan Carroll. Ferrybank pulled one back before Ryan sealed his hat trick. Ferrybank kept plugging and pulled it back to 4-4 with minutes left on the clock, deep in to injury time a free kick by Bradley Nolan was headed home by Ryan Carroll to cap off an exciting finish.

A very poor performance in first half found us lucky to be going in 0-0 at half time thanks to our keeper with some brilliant saves to keep us in it. A few switches and a good chat at half time woke us up. We stared to play some good football and we were awarded a penalty 10 minutes into second half but unfortunately couldn’t convert. We brushed ourselves off starting to get control off game again and in the last 2 minutes off game up steps Kieran with a free kick just outside the box and puts it into bottom right off the net to give us a hard fought win and 2 wins from 2 games good start to the season. Thanks to all the parents for dropping young lads down to game

U12B Mooncoin Celtic 0 Villa 5

A hard fought effort with only the bare 9 men on board this morning. Despite 5 goals conceded it was still a solid defensive performance from our lads, with some great tackles throughout the game. A few subs and it might’ve been a different outcome .

Started with 10 men finished with 9. Played with 8 for a solid 10-15 minutes.Some mistakes from our inexperienced keepers which they will learn from but other than that the lads barely conceded chances.It was a fairly decent performance out of the lads considering.Found it hard to create chances but played some really nice football at times

U10 Mooncoin Celtic 2 De La Salle 6

After a midweek draw with Portlaw , a team 2 divisions below the lads I was expecting a long afternoon but the boys surprised us all including De La Salle and did themselves proud against a very talented side . Goals from Aaron Foran and Keiran Quinn with a wonderful header from a cross from Billy Cunningham pegged us back to 4-2 . We conceded 2 late goals but the scoreline did not reflect the effort from the boys

U12B Girls Mooncoin Celtic 2 Tramore 8

The girls delivered a high-energy performance today, showing an incredible heart. Despite playing with just 8 players in the first half, Emma O’Keeffe opened the scoring with a goal. With 9 players in the second half, they kept battling and fought hard to claim a second goal by Emma O’Keeffe.

Tough day at office, started the game with low numbers and Robyn had to go off after 13 mins suspected hamstring tear so we were down to bare 11. We go again

U18A League Girls Mooncoin Celtic 1 Piltown 0

Sunday afternoon our u18a girls took on Piltown at home. We started strong and kept a high standard of football throughout the game. A frustrating game for our forwards due to an excellent performance from a very good Piltown goalkeeper. But our girls determination and battle right to the very last kick of the ball saw our right back Briona Vereker break from defence running the length of the pitch to get on the end of a lovely through ball from Anna Ready , driving into the box and smashing in the winning goal in the dying seconds of the match. An excellent team performance and deserved win.
