Another winner picks up a 50-50 winning cheque

Congratulations to our most recent winner of our Schoolboys and Schoolgirls 50 50 draw, Brendan ‘The Vic’ Walsh, who scoops €177 for his €2 gamble.

Vic was in wonderment as to why it took 2 weeks to hand over a winning cheque and why he wasn’t just handed over a pot with the winning coins in it. A little explanation as to the online purchasing of tickets and making sure all the books were in order didn’t help, but no matter the cheque is now cashed, and Vic is enjoying the winnings.

Thanks for all the local support and you can be in with a chance of a winning cheque too, just slip and envelope in the local holders or buy an entry online at

Senior Ladies: Mooncoin lose to Dungarvan

Disappointing scoreline but a very decent performance from our young side who stuck to their task throughout regardless of the scoreline.

Some fabulous goals by a very impressive Dungarvan team in the first half had them 5 up at half time but our girls dug in and regrouped and had a few half chances themselves before Dungarvan tagged on two late goals.

Slowly getting there, overall a very positive effort tonight, with very good performances from Aoidheann Lonergan, stand in goalkeeper Grace O’Toole and Lynne Casey this evening. Well done ladies.

News from across the atlantic

A huge bit of news filtered through earlier this evening with U14 player Emmet Cusack winning a bronze medal in the World Karate Championships in Florida, USA.

He was just pipped for a silver medal by his American opponent in a tie break. Super stuff Emmet, massive congratulations from all in Mooncoin Celtic, safe travels home to all the Irish participants and families. 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
