A Kieran Quinn free kick resulted in an own goal to open the scoring and a solo effort from Jack Phelan had us 2 up at half time. Tramore clawed one back after a nervy restart but Ciro Kabinski was in the right place again for a simple tap in before another solo effort from Jack Phealan sealed the win

Fantastic start to our U9 league campaign today against Kilmacow. With 14 players available against Kilmacow’s 7, it was full rotation throughout to make sure everyone got plenty of game time.We started really well and went 2–0 up, before Kilmacow fought back to make it 2–2. We grabbed another just before half-time to go in 3–2 ahead.Plenty of rotation again in the second half, but the lads finished the game really strongly, including an absolute banger from Aaron!Goalscorers:⚽ Luke⚽⚽ Aaron (2)⚽⚽ Toby (2)⚽ Rhian⚽ HammadiBrilliant effort from every single player and a great way to start the league.

After a lot of the team had played a hurling match this morning and an early red card the lads put up a serious fight trying to stay in the game. Overall serious effort from the 11 players involved today 🙏🏻

U13 Mooncoin Celtic 3 Villa 0

Something would have to give as a later than usual kick off time of 2.30 saw us host a Villa side who had also won their first 2 game of the season. We started brightly and with just 4 minutes on the clock Harry Purcell pounced on a loose pass as the Villa back line tried to play out from the back, and he left their right full with little option but to foul him as he turned him inside the area. Up stepped our captain Oisin O’Hanlon, who made no mistake from 12 yards as he sent the Villa keeper the wrong to give us the perfect start. Villa created some decent chances as the rest of the half wore on with some impressive passages of play but our back 4 held firm to take us in at the break with a 1-0 lead. The second half played out in much the same manner, Villa endeavoured with their passing game and we to keep them at arms length, creating plenty of chances along the way. Tadgh Mackey again took centre stage as the game entered the final 10 minutes, Tom Ennis won the ball on the halfway line and drove at the villa defense with 8 minutes left, with a despairing last ditch tackle the ball fell kindly to Tadgh Mackey he didn’t have to be asked twice as he finished with some style. As the clock ticked into stoppage time at the end of the game, Tadgh again found the ball at his feet on the edge of the area, with what is becoming a common sight he drop a shoulder sending the villa defense back across the bridge and curled a delightful effort into the far corner the put the gloss on another excellent performance from our lads.

With a few bodies returning, the squad put in a great battling performance last Friday tonight which resulted in three points. From going behind twice in the game, the heads never dropped and attitude throughout was spot on. Some cracking goals from Lee Freyne and an Aidan Carroll hat trick saw us get a fully deserved win.
