Fixtures for the weekend

Fixtures for the weekend:
Tomorrow U12 away to Carrick B, kick off 10.30
After the disappointment of the defeat against Stradbally, the boys will look to bounce back with a bang but will get nothing easy up in carrick.
Sunday: Munster Junior Cup Brideview v Mooncoin Celtic, kick off 2.30
A wee trip to Tallow to face the best side in west Waterford will be a good test for the lads after their great performance against Tramore in the junior cup. More of the same fight and determination and a little bit of composure in front of goal will hopefully see them progress.
FAI Youth Cup, Mooncoin Celtic v Lions, kick off 3pm
Lions of Durrow in County Laois travel down the motorway to face our youth team who hit a little bump in the road when they went down 1-0 to Johnville last Sunday. A talented squad on their day, will be hoping for a run in this cup to gather momentum going back to league games.
Support as always will be most welcome for all teams.

Tomorrow a party of 58 will travel to Dublin to take in the Ireland v Denmark game. A few prayers for good weather would be most welcome.

Youths Result Mooncoin 0 Johnville 1

Tough day at the office today when we came up against a good johnville side .first half saw very few chances created with both teams working hard throughout the pitch to close their opponents down .The only goal of the match came after the half hour mark when a lapse in concentration allowed a johnville striker in to take his chance .
Second half saw an improved performance on our part ,with the game opening up a bit more …
We seemed to be getting on top in midfield and created a few good chances and forced several corners to keep johnville pinned back in their own half for long periods.
Unfortunately the luck in the box wasn’t with us today despite a good honest performance from all involved .

U15c result: Mooncoin Celtic 3 St Paul’s 2

A flattering scoreline with the lads dominating throughout against a decent Paul’s team. A thunderbolt in the first half from Rudi looked like it crossed the line after rattling the crossbar but it wasn’t given. Scoreless at halftime but the lads upped the gears with three quick goals from Rizgar, Rudi and Kieran put daylight between them and Paul’s before two goals led to a nervous finish. Three wins from three has these lads primed for a league charge. Good squad performance with Luke again being man of the match but only just with Liam Quinn solid throughout.

U13 result: Villa 2 Mooncoin Celtic 1

A sluggish start saw the lads 2 down early on with Villa’s left winger running them ragged. The second half was a different story with Mikey Cronin pulling a goal back but unfortunately they couldn’t get an equalizer. Four tight games to date in this league for Derek’s squad with little between all sides.

Inter provincial blitz between Munster u12 girls

An inter provincial blitz between Munster u12 girls and Leinster u12 girls took place this evening in the WIT complex in Carriganore. Munster won the first game 1-0 and the second game starring one Emily Blackmore was an onslaught with Emily bagging goal number two in a comprehensive 5-1 win for Munster. Unbelievable experience for all the girls playing in this blitz, massive well done to the organisers. Well done Emily.

Fixtures for the weekend

Tomorrow, u11 away to Tramore, kick off 12 noon
This young squad will take a few games to get going and will use the experience against Piltown to good effect.

U13 away to Villa, kick off 3pm
After a good win in Tramore Monday evening, Derek’s squad will be hoping to build on it and climb the table.
U15A home to St Paul’s, kick off 3pm
The lads will be hoping to make it three from three when they face a strong Paul’s outfit who have proved a thorn in the side for this team the last two seasons.
Sunday: youths home to Johnville, kick off 2pm
A top of the table clash here as the city club will be hoping to keep their 100% record in tact. A super comeback away to ballinroad last week showed the character and metal this side have so Sunday’s game will be a real test for them.
Support for all teams is most welcome so get yourselves out and support our youngsters.
