The best performance of the season to date as the boys took the game to Villa on their magnificent astro turf pitch. An early lead through Jason Grace was well deserved and it was a long ball over the top caught the lads out for Villa’s equaliser. Much improved all round.

U12B Boys League:
Sweeping the board at the primary school quiz
We knew we had some talented boys and girls playing with the club and this week some of these boys and girls swept the board in the St Dominics Credit Union Primary School Quiz with Carrigeen National School.
Smiles all round in Dooley’s Hotel last Monday evening. Well done to all involved.
U10 Girls hosted Villa and Waterford Crystal at the weekend
We hosted Villa and Waterford Crystal on Sunday morning in Suir Crescent with our older girls taking on villa while our younger group played Crystal.
Plenty of goals, saves, tackles and most importantly fun had. Keep up the good work coaches and kids.
U14B Girls League: Tramore 1 – 1 Mooncoin Celtic
A game of missed chances for our u14 white team. A first half where we completely dominated, but with no goals to show for it at half time. An early goal in the second half for Tramore, albeit against the run of play gave them confidence.
But the girls composed themselves and equalised with a great passing move finished off by Anna Reddy. We had to settle for the one point on this occasion.
Youths League: Mooncoin Celtic 2 – 1 Tramore
Today we welcomed Tramore to Suir Crescent, with the league format becoming clearer we knew this game would be a right battle.
It took us about 10 minutes to settle and try get the passing game going with Sam Hartwell giving us the lead, then within a few minutes adding his second after being put through by a beautiful flick by Alex Bailey and finishing to the bottom corner superbly.
We now found ourselves in the always dangerous position of two up early in the game, we had the chances to kill the game. Tramore got their goal before half time from a corner that we should have dealt with, which brought them right back into the game. In the second half we started well causing problems on both wings, but to their credit Tramore really went for the game hitting the crossbar.
Our lads showed great resilience and held out for a well earned win. Man of the Match in this one for his workrate and some superb crosses was Stephen Brennan, both wingers today caused lots of problems and bar the soft goal the defence were very solid.
Academy Players of the week
Well done to our two players of the week in our academy, Cormac M and Noah T.
300 Club Draw for January today
The January draw for our 300 club syndicate is on this evening and will be screened live on Facebook.
U11B Boys League: Villa 2 – 2 Mooncoin Celtic
The lads were away to villa today putting in a great performance against a well organised side.
Shay Moore opened the scoring with a great strike early on to put us 1-0 up. Villa scored 2 quick goals shortly after leaving us down 2-1. Oscar o keefe made a crucial save on to the bar shortly after that was thought to be a certain goal for Villa.
Teddy Dunphy got it back to 2-2 before the break. In the second half it was very evenly contested with nothing between the sides. Final score 2-2.
U11C Boys League: Mooncoin Celtic 1 – 3 Park Rangers
Cody was captain for the day as Park Rangers arrived at Suir Crescent to avenge a 4-2 defeat at their own ground in September.
They started strongly and scored 3 goals quick succession in the first 15 minutes throwing lots of players forward. The game settled after 20 minutes with Mooncoin the better team for the remainder of the match. Numerous chances and corners were to no avail however until Eoin scored late on.
It was too little to late unfortunately and the game finished 3-1. The lads will be hoping to bounce back from their first defeat when they play St. Joseph’s away on Bank Holiday Monday.
U11A Boys League: Mooncoin Celtic 3 – 0 Dungarvan United
A third win on the bounce and another clean sheet too. From the off the boys took the game to Dungarvan and took an early lead after Billy O’Keeffe teed up Will Doherty for a simple finish.
Second half saw a big effort by all with Tom Hearne dominating in midfield throughout and his two assists for Ryan Sutton saw us clinch the three points.
Special mention must go to Ryan Sutton for a wonder finish for his second goal.
