Christmas Greetings form Mooncoin Celtic

As 2020 draws to a close with Santa on the way tomorrow, all in Mooncoin Celtic would like to wish a very Happy Christmas to everyone involved in the club from our youngest players in academy up to all the coaches involved at every level. After a strange 2020 with Covid19 disrupting every single person in some form or another, we can hopefully look forward to 2021 with real optimism with our new development in Suir Crescent being primed and ready for use come May of 2021, all going well. As a club, we were lucky to get the next phase of the works completed in the second half of the year with drainage works, security fencing, ball stop netting, hedging, parking and renovation of dressing rooms all completed. All of this would not have been possible without our 300 Club Syndicate and sellers keeping their foot on the pedal throughout a crazy year. We must say a big thank you to everyone that has invested in the development the last 2 years and without their faith and kindness none of the work would be done. A big big thank you goes to Declan Walsh and Sons for their professional work across the duration of the development to date. Our 300 Club Syndicate is run by our Finance Committee and without their support and work, we might still be at the mucky field stage. Covid19 played havoc with meetings and monthly draws the last 9 months but again the lads worked their way around things and ran things very very effectively. Our Finance Committee which was put together to oversee the running of the 300 Club and development works, is led by Denis Healy and comprises of John Ryan, Noel O’Keeffe, Michelle O’Hanlon, Tom Grant and Seamus Comerford. A special thank you has to go this group. A thank you must go to other people that were involved in the early stages of finance committee also, with Gillian Bailey carrying out excellent work on the Sports Capital Grant application which secured €75,000 and also Michael Comerford whose experience with other clubs was invaluable with grant applications again.
And that is that, 2020 will go down in history for our good friend Covid19 and 2021 will hopefully see a return to normal life and all the young boys and girls of Mooncoin Celtic will enjoy the use of the new development at Suir Crescent.
Happy Christmas everyone and best wishes for 2021.

Pieta House Run in Ashgrove

Tomorrow local junior league referee Eamon Russell will be running the Mooncoin Celtic leg of his fundraising drive to raise funds for Pieta House. The run will take place at 12 noon in Ashgrove.
Eamon is doing a 7km run in every junior league club in the Waterford league, 35 clubs in total bringing it to 245km in total and Eamon will finish it off with a 5km run to bring it up to 250km.
Why a 7 km run people might ask?
The 7 km represents a kilometre for every life lost to suicide every week in Ireland. An absolutely crucial service in this country which always requires funding. So if at all possible, click on the link and support Eamon in his fundraising drive for Pita House:
