Mooncoin welcomed Piltown Blue to Suir Crescent. A Strong defence kept a hard working Piltown team away from scoring anymore than 1 goal.
Midfield worked tirelessly in both defence & attack. Our strikers kept their defence busy and were very unlucky on more than one occasion not to add to our final tally of 4 goals.
Our girls played some brilliant passes and kept the ball flowing throughout the match. Briona got us on the score board after 20minutes followed shortly after by another goal from Anna Reddy.
The second half started off slow for us & Piltown slipped a goal past our posts. Changes at half time saw Alexi come on up front & it wasn’t long until she directed the ball straight in to the back of the net a move which she repeated less than 10 minutes later to bring us to a 4-1 win.
A very slow start from the boys cost them dearly against a slick passing Tramore side who raced into a two goal lead in the first 10 minutes.

Eventually they got going coming in to half time and Jack Twomey pulled a goal back with a bullet header. Plenty chances came their way in the second half with James O’Keeffe Bolger going close twice before Tramore snatched a third.
A Ryan Sutton header gave the lads late hope but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.
With a full program of fixtures midweek, 12 entries head in to week 6 and the following are the selections:
Aston Villa 5, Liverpool 2,Newcastle 2, Brighton 2 and One on Man Utd.
Best of luck to all remaining entries.
Well done to our three young ladies, Emily Blackmore, Aoibhe Rees and Ella Brennan who were involved with the Waterford u16 development squad who defeated Cork in their Shield semi final Sunday.

Emily got her customary goal and was denied by the woodwork for another.
Congratulations to the winner of this week’s 50 50 draw, Dean Haley who wins €200 and Dean bought his envelope in the Royal Oak. Thanks as always for your continued support.

We had one team in action today and that was our u10 girls who visited sunny Graun Park to take on Tramore and they put a brilliant performance with Maria Dunphy among the goals and all girls on duty playing really well throughout against a good Tramore team.

Final reminder for entries for this evening’s 50 50 draw, click on the link to enter and please share with family and friends to enter.
Today saw 3 of our teams in action but today we have to pay tribute to one of the stars of Mooncoin in Davy Dobbyn who starred alongside his Waterford team mates and banged in a bundle of goals in the SETU Arena including a hat trick in the first outing. Well done to Davy and all his Waterford team mates. 👏👏👏👏

Title chasing St Paul’s hosted us today on the moon in perfect conditions. From the off, the boys pestered St Paul’s and gave very little space all over. On 25 minutes Ryan Carroll slotted home after a long throw by Chris O’Hanlon.
We were under a wee bit of pressure after this but weathered the storm and Ryan Carroll popped up again to nod home from a Chris O’Hanlon cross this time. Second half started and we quickly went 3 up with Derek Tebay nodding home after Jason Sauvage had a free kick fumbled.
We continued to attack and possibly could have been out of sight but for poor finishing and bad luck. To be fair St Paul’s had plenty chances but our young defence stood firm before two scrambles resulted in a nervy finish. Excellent performance by all on duty today but special mention to a red hot Ryan Carroll.
