Mooncoin Minors

From everyone in Mooncoin Celtic, the very best of luck to Mooncoin Minor hurlers in the county final tomorrow against Dicksboro in Nowlan Park. It would be a fantastic achievement to win two county finals in a row.
Fingers crossed that they can bring home the cup tomorrow evening.

LMS Update nearly a big fall

At 4.40 today, with results in the premier league all over the shop, we had only 8 remaining but thanks to Man City’s winner and Liverpool’s late late show we only lost 16 entrants thanks to West Ham, Arsenal and Man Utd slipping up. A couple on Leicester tomorrow but 48 live to fight another day after today’s results.

U13 Girls South East FAI Emerging Talent selection

The weather might be playing havoc with fixtures for the coming weekend but today it didn’t stop the u13 Girls South East FAI Emerging Talent selection take on Cork and two Limerick sides in a blitz in horrendous weather today in Limerick. Included in this squad was our own Emily Blackmore, who performed excellently in the three games which they beat Cork 1-0 but go down to Limerick A and B 2-1 in each game. Well done Emily and all the girls from Waterford, Kilkenny, Wexford and Carlow.

LMS Update Entries

Nearly all entries for the weekend are in, with a wide selection of choices from Brighton to Sheffield United to a big number on Liverpool.
Those still to send in their picks, have until 12 noon tomorrow.

U10 Girls

Our u10 Girls visited Villa and Carrick on Sunday morning last and put in brilliant performances to show progress is steadily being made with these two squads.
Goals aplenty in Villa with Saoirse Dunphy, Leah Twomey and Lexi Walsh among the goals. The game in Carrick was a tight affair with the girls a little unlucky not to have been closer to a bigger Carrick side.

Munster Youth Cup Result Mooncoin Celtic 0 Ballinroad 4

Youth B side Ballinroad arrived in Ashgrove to face our young charges. Depleted for one reason or another, this young squad can be proud of their display against a bigger physical side.
A missed penalty after two minutes by Evan Cleary could have sent this game in a total different direction with the lads sticking to the game plan throughout the first half to a tee but two sloppy mistakes had Ballinroad 2 up at half time.
Another two costly mistakes in the second half undone the boys who had a second penalty saved, Ryan Carroll the guilty party this time. Another couple of chances were passed up aswell.
Good displays throughout the side with Ryan O’Grady and Luke Ramasamwy doing well at full back, Jay Langford was his usual excellent self but Man of the match was young Adrian Daly who covered every blade of grass, his reading of the game was a pleasure to witness.
Good experience gained by all.
