The rustiness was evident to see when the lads huffed and puffed their way to a 1-0 win but must be commended for dominating the game and they kept trying to play the right way against a dogged Bohs side. Robbie Harrington topped off a man of the match display with the winning goal, finishing off a free kick by Lee Freyne. 3 points secured which hopefully will kick start this sides climb up the table.

U11 Result: Ballyduff
Our U11s played Ballyduff yesterday morning in near perfect conditions in a very entertaining game. Goals galore after a very slow start. Thanks to Ballyduff for switching the game to their splendid venue.
4th division result, Kilmacow 1 Mooncoin Celtic 1
A draw was secured in this derby where even grand national horses would have found the going tough in sticky underfoot conditions. Gerry Walsh nicked the goal to secure the point. Credit to the boys who battled for 40 minutes with 10 men. We’ll leave the general public guess who got red carded, following a dubious refereeing decision.
2B RESULT : MOONCOIN CELTIC 3-2 BOHEMIANS FC.
The home side started the opening half hour well, good spells were had and we twice managed to capitalise on the possession. The first came from J.Savauge. A slick passing move from the back came to I.Synnott who laid it into Savauge, he in turn placed the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net from just inside the box. Similar was the second goal for the home side. A ball was played through from E.Ryan to I. Synnott and he finished off what was another fine move from inside the box for the home side. Mooncoin found themselves 2-0 up and sailing. The wind direction turned and bohs started to get into the game. Bohs No.10 hit a shot under no pressure from 20 yards out and sweetly found the bottom left hand corner of the net . In the second half it was similar again, bohs attacked from the right wing, turned inside across the edge of the box and a deflected shot found the back of the net. What once looked a stroll in the Ashgrove park turned into a dog fight. That being said, Mooncoin created much opportunities throughout the game. The match winner was found 20minutes from time.. A string of passes found J.kavanagh inside the box who was brought down for a penalty. K.walsh stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way. Further opportunities were created in the final quarter. The best of them landing to J.O’Hanlon. A ball was whisked across the field, played into J.O’Hanlon, and to only reasons he knows, blazed the ball into the next field at the other side of the road. A very mixed performance but another win closer to being crowned champions. 4 games to go keep it going lads
Fixtures for the weekend

U13 away to St Saviour’s, kick off 12.30.
Victors charges have a chance to blow off the cobwebs after another long spell without a game. Only consolation is every club is the same.
2b home to Bohs, kick off 2.30
This game will go ahead subject to a pitch inspection Friday evening. If it does, the lads will look to take one step closer to league glory but will take nothing for granted against a decent Bohs team.
Sunday: youths home to Tramore B, kick off 2pm.
Another long spell without a game might come to an end on Sunday. Credit to management and team, they have trained every week regardless of the weather as the
y look to finish the season strongly.
4th Division away to Kilmacow, kick off 2pm
Again another long stretch without a game but the older chaps have trained in numbers every week regardless.
