U15 Cup Semi Final Result St Paul’s 0 Mooncoin Celtic 3

Were on a roll, our U15s overcame league champions St. Pauls tonight on the moon to book their spot in the cup final.

A blistering performance from the entire squad with little given to league champions St Paul’s as the boys roared into the cup final against Ferrybank this Saturday. A decent start by the lads had confidence up and when the keeper fumbled a Kyle Kennedy free kick, Aaron Mcloughlin and Rudi were sharp to the second ball to scramble it home. Nathan Long stood tall and pulled off a point blank save to keep the lads ahead. An injury to Ryan O’Grady forced a reshuffle with Kieran Fagan coming in but the lads kept the pressure on and a quick exchange between Aaron Mcloughlin and Kieran Fagan saw Kieran notch number two with 10 minutes gone in the second half. St Paul’s did miss a penalty and could have put the boys under pressure but the seal was put on the result when an excellent free kick by Lee Freyne put the game to bed. An all round great performance with excellent displays throughout especially from Luke Ramasamay but man of the match was Adrian Daly for his all action box to box display.
Ferrybank await in the final on Saturday with kick off at 12.30 in Tramore. After the disappointment of finishing second in the league, this squad must be commended for bouncing back and putting in two great performances to reach the final. Big well done to both players and coaches. See ye all in Tramore this Saturday where we go for cup number two of the week. Go on Mooncoin Celtic!

U12 Cup Champions!! Final score Mooncoin Celtic 3 – Kilmacow 2!

Cup Champions!! Final score 3-2! Unbelievable scenes, losing 2-0 to come back and win it with virtually the last kick of the game! ⚽️⚽️⚽️

A rip-roaring derby against Kilmacow was on offer in glorious conditions in Tramore yesterday as our u12 squad under Kevin Kennedy and Pat Walsh went for cup glory and boy did they do it the hard way.
They started well, creating chances and going close through Jamie Croke but somehow found themselves 2-0 down and playing well. A scramble after a free kick resulted in Ben Brennan pulling a goal back. Second half started with the lads on top again and a Robbie Doherty equalizer set up a grand stand finish.
And a grandstand finish we got, with a winner from Robbie Doherty clinching the cup for this hard working squad.
Captain Canice Kinsella lifted the cup to great cheers from the large support present.
Richly deserved rewards for both players and coaches, who stuck to their task all season training in all conditions in Ashgrove even when they had no games coming up. Well done boys and coaches.

Fixtures for the week

Tuesday:
U12 Cup Final:
Venue: Tramore
Kick off: 7pm
Mooncoin Celtic v Kilmacow
This squad will aim to stop Kilmacow winning a third schoolboy cup this season and have been busy preparing under the watchful eye of Kevin Kennedy and Pat Walsh over the last few weeks. After toppling Stradbally in the semi final the confidence will be high going into the final. The two league meetings between the clubs yielded a win each so Tuesdays meeting promises to be a very tight affair.
We are asking as many as possible to get yourselves out to Tramore on Tuesday evening to support the lads in their quest for silverware.

Wednesday:
U15 cup semi final
Away to St Paul’s, kick off 6.45
After a few weeks of a break due to exams, this eagerly awaited semi final against the league champions will be a very close game as there was very little between both clubs in the clashes during the season. Again, support for this one would be most grateful as they aim to reach the cup final.

We ask all members to share this post and get a big crowd in Tramore on Tuesday and St Paul’s on Wednesday to support our young teams who have put in huge efforts to get the rewards they deserve.
