Pubs League Results

Doyle’s 1 The Reg 2
A top quality game with very little between the two sides. It was going to be class goals or mistakes to decide the winner and unfortunately mistakes determined the winner here.

Connors Live 1 The Auld Rogue 0
A rip roaring Carrick derby had the large crowd on the edge of their seat for the whole game and it was Connors Live, led by the Butler brothers who got the breakthrough and held on to give Shane Ahearn and Eugene Fleming the bragging rights in Carrick tonight.

The last quarter final between The Sweep and Malzards has been switched to Monday night for an 8pm kick off so no games tomorrow evening.

Last training for girls section

The girls section of the club finished up this evening in glorious sunshine with our u14s having a fun filled training session and our u10s playing Carrick in a friendly.
Before we kicked off we presented the awards for the season and also a special recognition award for U15 Gaynor Cup representative Ciara O’Keeffe.
A big thanks to all the coaches for their time and also to the parents for their continued support for the girls.
Hope to see ye all back in September.

Norris’s 6 The Mansion House 2
Damien Kelly’s prediction of Norris’s going all the way this year could be a sure thing after this goal feast this evening.

A polished performance from Owen Kielys charges saw the Sweep advance with ease to face Malzards.

Pubs League Results

Doyles 4 Royal Oak 0
A classy Doyle’s outfit steamrolled the Royal outfit and advanced to face The Reg in the quarter final. It could have been more but for Daragh Murphy’s heroics on goal for the Royal Oak as he stopped Martin ‘Spud’ Murphy time after time after time.

Malzards 4 Comerfords A 2
Comerfords put up a decent show against Malzards from Stoneyford who will be among the favourites to win this year’s competition. Soft goals given away did not help their cause after some great finishes by Ian O’Keeffe and Jamie Carroll had them right in the mix.

Monday night will see the first quarter final with Norris’s v Mansion House at 6.45 followed by the last 1st round game between Comerfords B v The Sweep.

U15 Cup Final Result: Mooncoin Celtic 3 Ferrybank 0

A dominant display from the lads clinched a second cup for the cup this week.
From the off, they went at Ferrybank and with Kieran Fagan and Aaron Mcloughlin looking dangerous every time they attacked. A slick finish by Kieran Fagan after 15 minutes settled the nerves and the lads relaxed and 5 minutes before half time a speculative shot from Rudi caused a fumble by the keeper and Aaron Mcloughlin buried the second to put Ferrybank under serious pressure for the second half.
Again in the second half a dominant display was put on with each and every one of the boys playing their part. Adrian Daly nodded in a great corner from Lee Freyne to seal the game and cup midway through the second half.
From there they ran down the clock and lifted the cup to loud cheers from the Mooncoin crowd.
Big well done to players and coaches for their efforts throughout the season and thanks to all parents for their support for the boys all season.
Go on Mooncoin Celtic!
