Yes indeed another week and another winner as we get to congratulation Emma Synott, on collecting her cheque for €334 as the most recent winner of the Mooncoin Celtic 50/50 Draw. Not bad for €2 investment.
Our next Draw will be this coming Sunday (March 20th). Envelopes are available at all training sessions and from local businesses.
While there were only a handful of fallers last week, this week saw over 60 fallers in Last Man Standing, with City and Southampton catching out a boat load of players.
That leaves 41 players still standing.
New for this years LMS is a leaders table, this is used in the case were LMS gets to the final game of the Premier League and there are still players remaining. As such there can only be one winner the leader in this table and at this point in time there are 9 players in prime position for the win.
But one false prediction and a leader this week could be out of the competition altogether.
Best of luck to all players for round 4 which will be played April 2nd 2022.
The Waterford U12 Development Squad had a friendly game this morning against South Tipperary, with MCFC player Ethan Owens playing. The score line was Waterford 3 South Tipperary 1, with Ethan grabbing 2 of the goals to put the team 2 – nil up. His first goal was exceptional.
Well done to Ethan and the entire squad for a good showing again today.
Pictured above are some of our Ladies Committee who have done their bit for the Ukrainian Appeal by donating the clubs slice of €334 from last Sunday’s Schoolgirls and Schoolboys 50-50 draw to purchase medical supplies.
A big thank you to Mooncoin Pharmacy, Marcello and Paula for putting together the much needed supplies. We are urging all our members, young and old, to help get aid to the people of Ukraine. Items can be dropped to the parish hall tomorrow (Friday) from 9am to 7pm.
Mooncoin pushed Bohs hard from the very start and were very unlucky with quite a few clear cut chances early in the first half. Bohs scored first though with an excellent strike, albeit against the run of play.
Mooncoin continued to push hard and drew things level with a goal from Ella Brennan.
The second half was a continuation of the first with Mooncoin continuing to pressure Bohs throughout the pitch. When Bohs did attack, the Mooncoin defense held firm, with Mollie Murphy in particularly fine form.
Emily Cooney was unlucky not to score with an outstanding strike from distance and it was beginning to look like it was not going to be their day. However, Aoibhe Rees, normally the goalscorer, turned provider with fantastic assists to Emily Cooney and Ella Brennan to put the result beyond doubt.
It was very much a team performance by Mooncoin against a very resourceful Bohs team.
