A young Tramore team deservedly walked away with 3 points thanks to a late winner. Plenty opportunities for our boys to score throughout but not to be today.
Hats off to Tramore coaches Chris and John for playing sweepers afterwards and leaving the away dressing room spotless.
Tyler led the boys out as captain for the first game of the new year and they were off to a flyer within the first few minutes with Dylan slotting home from close range after good pressing up top.
The boys worked extremely hard throughout the half and were rewarded with a second soon after with more pressure from Dylan causing confusion in the Kilmacow defence resulting in an own goal.
Another og was scored by Kilmacow early in the second half, just reward for good passing from Mooncoin in the build up. The assist of the game however goes to Ethan for our fourth.
As he received the ball on the edge of the box he took one touch with the left before laying it off deftly to Noel with his right who coolly slotted into the corner for his second of the season.
Kilmacow didn’t let the heads drop and won a penalty soon after which they buried into the goal. Mooncoin weren’t done either and TJ weighed up his options on the break and smashed the ball low and hard past the opposition keeper.
This was a well deserved first win for this team having been unlucky in previous games and there is certainly more to come in the next few weeks.
And then there was two left standing. Poor Emily Blackmore will be cursing Newcastle drawing with Leeds and sent her tumbling from the competition. Best of luck to the two remaining entries.
As 2022 draws to a close, we can reflect on a what has been a very busy and successful year on and off the pitch in Suir Crescent.
Development works continued at various stages of the year with LED floodlighting, footpaths and car park widening completed and we won a number of trophies underage on the pitch too.
For 2023, we will be installing streetlighting, erecting a storage shed, spectator railing and all going well completing entrance works. On the pitch we hope to pick up another few trophies but more importantly keep enjoying the game and developing our young boys and girls to improve further.
Thanks to all within the community for supporting us throughout 2022 and on behalf of all in Mooncoin Celtic, best wishes for 2023.
