Disgraceful weather in Curracloe today for a noon kick off. You wouldn’t put the ducks out in it but by God did these two teams serve up a treat of a game and went toe to toe for 70 minutes before another 20 minutes of extra time before the dreaded penalties saw Curracloe get through. A mighty performance by all on duty with Ciara Lynch getting the goal to put us one up but Curracloe showed their class with a good finish of their own. Big thank you to all who travelled and put up with shocking conditions.
Best of luck to Curracloe United in the next round and thanks for the refreshments afterwards in their fabulous clubhouse.

A super first half performance had this game put to bed early. Billy OโK with one and two finishes from Will D plus an excellent penalty save from Tyler K saw the lads 3 up at half time. They controlled the second half to ease in to the next round with a trip to wexford.

U15C League Result Tramore 6 Mooncoin Celtic 0
Last Thursday our U15s travelled to Graun Park to take on Tramore in their second league game of the season. Tramore scored early in first half followed by a second shortly after, by half time it was 4 -0 to the home team. Another two quick early goals in the second half left us trailing 6-0. However, we gave everything in the second half which was a much better performance – Ella, Jake and Cathal were outstanding and were unlucky not to score. Bradley pulled off some saves in the goal too despite everything.
U13C League Result Mooncoin Celtic 0 Dungarvan United 4
An impressive Dungarvan outfit rattled in four without reply in Suir Crescent yesterday afternoon to take all three points.
U11G League Result Mooncoin Celtic 2 Ferrybank 3
A cracker of a game between two evenly matched teams saw Ferrybank get the three points on offer. Goals on the day from Harry and Kieran in what was an enjoyable game for our youngest side.
U11E League Result Mooncoin Celtic 1 De la Salle 1
Our under 11s gang had their first competitive home game of the year today and on the back of a very good draw up in carrick confidence was high and we started the game really well getting on the attack early through Ryan and Charlie who pressed really well to win the ball and Charlie played a cross field ball to John joe who cut in onto his left and put in a lovely in-swinging cross that cormac finished brilliantly first time into the roof of the net. We created further chances through Edmond who put in a superb display all day down the right side tormenting the de la salle defence. We brought billy and Kieran in late in the first half to keep de la salle out and went in 1-0 up at the break. The second half was a different story with de la salle talking control of the game. Our defence of Aiden, Corey and Patrick were outstanding in the second half and with Thomas behind them pulling off 5 or 6 great saves it looked like we would see it out but they snatched an equaliser when a fine save from Thomas was turned home by their striker to level the game.
We were under serous pressure for the closing ten minutes but the whole team worked their socks off to hold on in particular brothers Aidan and Charlie who broke up attack after attack. We rotated between Jim Kieran billy and Ryan second half to keep legs in the team and all 12 players should be very proud of their efforts today with a really well earned draw against a very good team.
Man of the match today could have been any of the defenders with all performing really well but our keeper Thomas was the hero today with some fantastic saves to gain the draw. Onwards and upwards for a great little team.
