The Reg 1 The Sweep 0
A super tight game was always on the cards and that was exactly what we got. Little room was given by either team and chances were very rare with Tomas Wall and Dean Purcell well on top in either goal. A scoreless first half would have had The Sweep in confident mood going into the second period but slowly The Reg got a foothold on the game and the game swung in their favour when Andrew Power opened the scoring and a red card was dished to a player from The Sweep in the space of a minute. Luke Duggan brushed a post with a header shortly after and this was as close as The Sweep got as Mick Cummins led a team to victory for the 3rd time in 4 years.
A tight game but there had to be a winner and a loser. Eoin Kiely and The Sweep will be back next year looking to dethrone Mick Cummins and his squad.

The Pubs League Final takes place this evening at 7.15 between The Sweep and The Reg. Guaranteed to be an entertaining game with plenty goals in it. Get yourselves down to Ashgrove for the finale of this year’s pubs league.

The Reg 3 Connors Live 1
Chances aplenty in this one with Mick Cummins leading his side to their 4th final in a row. Connors Live threw everything at them but couldn’t break them down.

The Sweep 2 Norris’s 0
It took an absolute thunderbolt from 30 yards to break the deadlock in this one and Norris’s will be kicking themselves with the soft second given away shortly afterwards. Damien Kelly tried all he could when introduced but it wasn’t to be this year.

So Saturday sees our final between The Reg led by Mick Cummins and The Sweep who are getting better under Owen Kiely. It promises to be an exciting game with kick off time at 7.15.

The Sweep 2 Malzards 1
The lads from Stoneyford threw everything at the Sweep but could not find a way past Tomas Wall on goal. End to end stuff all the way to the final whistle with The Sweep advancing to face Norris’s.

The two semi finals are on Wednesday evening with The Reg v Connors Live at 6.45 followed at 8pm by Norris’s v The Sweep.

Pubs League resumes tonight with the last quarter final between Malzards and The Sweep kicking off at 8pm.
The semi finals will take place Wednesday evening at 6.45 and 8pm with the final this Saturday at 7.15.

Massive congratulations to Ciara on her player recognition award for a game during the Gaynor Cup 2019.
