School Boys/Girls and Junior League Football in South Kilkenny
Our young academy boys took part in the Ferrybank AFC U9 Clover Tournament today and put in a great effort in both their groups to gain much needed experience in a competitive setting.
With 13 out of the 17 on duty underage again next year, today will be of huge benefit. Special mention must go to 7 year old Billy Fielding who bagged a hat trick in game 2 against Dungarvan and also notched against Tramore.
Big thanks and well done to Ferrybank on a brilliantly run U9 Academy tournament.
The 300 Club draw was held today and the winners include:
1st Prize €700 Brendan Conway
2nd Prize €200 John Fitzgerald
3rd Prize €100 Sally Foran
Seller’s Prize €50 Brendan Conway

Its a day of good vibes and good wishes and a delight to see so many Mooncoin players involved at a National level and in this case it’s the U16 Inter League Squad who are in a National Final on Sunday v Longford in Cahir.

Tomorrow these boys will lead our academy boys in the Ferrybank AFC Clover Tournament for U9 boys. 32 teams are entered with Mooncoin Celtic entering 2 teams in what will be an exciting day for all involved.

Ahh the Irish summer, due to the poor weather forecast for tomorrow, we are POSTPONING our planned Soccer Marathon and player of the year awards.
It will now take place on Saturday 9th July from 2-7pm. Apologies for any inconvenience.
A stark reality check for our ladies for the level that is required to compete, in what will be a very strong league. A very fit, direct and well drilled Carrick team took no mercy and scored some cracking goals throughout the game. A tough evening at the office and plenty food for thought.

A valiant and ferocious effort put in by this Young Mooncoin team this evening in sunny Tramore.
The work Rate across the board tonight was testimony to the girls and how far they have come . They left every ounce of themselves on the pitch.
We took the lead twice through Sommer Grant , once in the first half and again in the second half . But alas it was not to be , as Park Rangers equalised and nipped the winner with 10 minutes left on the Clock.
Stand out performances in the Mooncoin Jersey tonight were Ciara O Keeffe , Sommer Grant and Niamh Reddy .
Tonight’s game brings the curtains down on what has been a fantastic season for these young ladies .
All are welcome to attend our AGM which will be held on Saturday 2nd July in the Parish Hall at 6.30 pm.
Match of the Day June 20th is the Girls U17 Cup Final against Park Rangers.
