Congratulations Bradley
Massive congratulations to our very own Bradley Nolan, who has been selected for this season’s Waterford u15 development squad . A top class goalkeeper with a superb attitude who leads in every single way in training and on match day and had been very busy in recent months training with our 1B squad and shadowing Eric Conway at every opportunity. A boy with a huge future and a role model for all our players, we are very lucky to have him within our club.
Good luck Daniel
The very best of luck to Waterford FC U15s who play Bohemians in the Shield Final tomorrow at 2pm in the SETU Arena. One of our own former academy players will be marshalling the midfield for Waterford and all in Mooncoin Celtic wish Daniel Ponce de Leon the best of luck. Daniel is the classic example of where hard work can get you once you put in the time and effort on the training ground. Daniel has been getting back to top form recently after a spell on the sidelines and produced a man of the match performance in the semi final against Dundalk. 🤞 For 🏆🥇 tomorrow evening.
Well done all
Massive well done to our three representatives in the Waterford Schoolgirls Development squads, Sophie Phelan at u16, Hannah Dobbyn at u14 and Molly Walsh at u13. All three played their first games recently and will fly the flag in future games. We also have JP Byrne and Ritchie Lynch involved as coaches with the u13 squad.

Tragic week
The past week has thrown local football and Waterford city and surrounding areas in to mourning with the loss of three young men who were in the prime of their lives. All in Mooncoin Celtic offer their condolences to the family and friends of Gilbert Collins and Avu Idris who tragically lost their lives in an accident last week on the Cork Road and condolences also to the family and friends of Michael Grant who passed away while away on holiday. Having experienced the loss of a young player recently ourselves in Mooncoin Celtic when we lost young Kate Corcoran last November, the clubs and soccer families of the three lads in Waterford Crystal, Villa and St Joseph’s FC respectively will feel a huge loss and will recover in time but for now it’s important to look out for each other and watch over all the young and old players in your clubs in the coming weeks and months. Three good guys have been taken way too soon, two young men who were only making their way in life in Gilbert and Avu, and a truly passionate coach and clubman in Michael Grant.
RIP Gilbert, Avu and Granter.
