Ladies League Result Park Rangers 2 Mooncoin Celtic 0

An early goal in each half saw Park Rangers secure the three points. After conceding early in the game, our girls settled and plenty chances came our way but the crossbar, goalkeeper and a number of near misses prevented us equalising.

A second goal from a corner knocked the wind out of our sails but back we came and again created plenty of opportunities but no end product.
Benfica await in the cup semi-final on Sunday at home in Suir Crescent at 3pm before our final league fixture next Wednesday away to Benfica.

A birds eye view

We had an eye in the sky during the week to showcase some of the work done in the last 12 months at a cost of just under €160,000.

None of this would have been possible without the support of everyone in our 300 club and everyone supporting our 50 50 draw. Thank you for your continued support.

Ladies League: Mooncoin Celtic 0 – 3 Villa

Our young ladies side entertained Villa in sunny conditions and an even first half saw chances for both sides with both goalkeepers equal to anything thrown at them, nil all at half time.

The second half saw an early goal for Villa and a second was added after a scramble from a corner. Try as we might we couldn’t breach the Villa back line.

Villa killed the game off with a breakaway goal and deservedly took the three points. A few new positions tried out for a few of the girls and we’ll take the positives in to next week away to Park Rangers.

Ladies League: Tramore 4 – 1 Mooncoin Celtic

A very disappointing result with the game done after 25 minutes with Tramore 3 up. A little shake up saw an improved work rate and Becky Connaughton put away a free kick on 40 minutes.

Second half saw an improvement but Tramore notched their 4th goal on 50 minutes. A few half chances came our way but no end product. Caoimhe Power and Grace O Toole were the pick of the bunch tonight.

A very talented young group who know they should be getting better results, it will come in time.

Ladies League: Mooncoin Celtic 1 – 7 Dungarvan United

We hosted Munster Junior Cup finalists on Wednesday evening and we’re left with a mountain to climb early on when two very obvious offside calls were ignored.

Dungarvan showed their class throughout the first half and scored two very good goals. Second saw our girls playing for pride and they created many chances throughout with the post and crossbar preventing a couple of goals before Becky Connaughton hung up a good free kick.

A couple of late goals were put away by Dungarvan before time was called.
The very best of luck to Dungarvan United in this Sunday’s Munster Junior Cup Final against Wilton United of Cork.

We’d also like to wish Breska Rovers the best of luck in the Munster Shield Final on Sunday, Breska Rovers beat us in a close encounter in the last 16 in a very close game in Suir Crescent.
