League runners up Dungarvan came to Suir Crescent for the cup semi final and what a game it turned out to be.
Mooncoin came out of the blocks fast and had plenty of first half chances. It was Emily Cooney who broke the deadlock with a great run through the middle and a powerful finish to match the run.
Dungarvan equalised shortly before half time to send them in all square at the break.
Both team pressed hard in the second half but it was Mooncoin who stuck first with 7 minutes to go.
A deflected strike from Aoibhe Rees saw us take the lead. A late scramble in the box with a couple of minutes to go saw Dungarvan equalise again and the game was brought to extra time. A goal in each half saw Dungarvan win the game.
This was a fantastic performance from every girl on the pitch and on another day the game may have gone our way.
4-2 to Dungarvan was the final score after extra time.
Heartbreak for the Mooncoin girls but the future is bright for this young team.
Ballyduff came to Suir Crescent for a nail biting cup semi final and a tough battle it proved to be.
A solid display by the defence and midfield meant Ballyduff were restricted to long range efforts which were no match for the in form Jake Moore in the goal.
A nice move from the midfield sent Marti one on one with the Ballyduff keeper and there was only one winner. 1-0 to Mooncoin. Ballyduff pressed for an equaliser in the second half but another stunning finish from Marti sealed a place in the final for Mooncoin.
2-0 final score.
Fantastic work from everyone involved.
Cup Final will be v Ballinroad in Tramore Saturday 28th at 2.30. All support would be appreciated.

Sunny Faithlegg set the scene for last nights u16 Cup quarter final between Park Rangers and Mooncoin.
Park Rangers gained the upper hand and went one nil up on the 10 minute mark, but Mooncoin dug deep , didn’t let their heads drop , and equalised inside five minutes , when Molly Long put through a ball to Emily Blackmore , who outstretched but managed to get the ball past the Rangers keeper and into the back of the net .
Ella Bailey and Niamh Reddy along with Luiseach and Sarah Walsh worked hard between themselves to keep any incoming threat at bay . With Alanah Tobin on full alert for anything that might slip past .
We went a goal up on the 25 minute mark when a fantastic clearance down field from Eimear Quinn was taken a little further down the line by Luiseach Dlwho gave an over head ball to Emily Blackmore , who took a touch in the air and sent the ball over the head of the Park Rangers defender coming to clear the ball and the Park Rangers keeper off her line .
Mooncoin led by a goal at half time ,,,, but ten minutes in to the second half Park Rangers came at us , scoring a superb goal from a very tight angle . To level the game up once again .
Mooncoin began to press once again , and were awarded an penalty on the 60 minute mark when Sommer Grant was taken down . Sommer , herself stood over the ball and calmly converted her penalty .
Less than ten minutes later , Sommer was moving towards goal after a clearance pass from Caoimhe Hartwell . While eyeing up a posssible shot on goal for herself , she spotted Emily Blackmore in a scoring position and got the ball to Emily who slotted home to make it a 2-4 score line.
Minutes before the full time whistle some great passing between Ella Brennan and Aoibhe Rees , resulted in Aoibhe getting a shot off across goal that Emily Cooney helped in to the net .
The game finished Park Rangers 2-5 Mooncojn Celtic
Stand out performances tonight for Kate McGrath and Caoimhe Hartwell , who both put in a massive shift for the Mooncoin jersey last night .
Kilmacow away was the venue for our cup 1/4 final. The first half was an even affair with few chances for either side with both defences standing firm .
It was scoreless at the break. We had a very strong breeze at our backs for the second 35. The second half followed a similar pattern until Alex who let fly with his left from inside his own half found the top corner of the net.
Within two minutes Robbie beat the offside trap n floated a beautiful ball onto the head of Marti to put us two up.
Kilmacow were shellshocked and we took control of the game. A great individual goal from Marti put the game to bed.
A fantastic display from the lads to beat a strong resalute Kilmacow side . The midfield duo of Canice and Oisin were magnificent and won the middle third despite being outnumbered.
A semi final away to Piltown next thursday awaits.
Goals : Marti x 2 & Alex Mom. Oisin & Canice (Again) With a special mention for Alex.
It was a trip to sunny Tramore again today for the Cup Quarter final. We started really well with Connor Walsh hitting the crossbar, Daniel hitting the post and Liam Mackey forcing a good save from the keeper but against the run of play Tramore won a free kick after the ref deemed Emmet our stand in Goalkeeper to have handled the ball outside the box.
Tramore scored from the resulting corner following the free kick being kept out.
We got back working hard and got our deserved opener from a Liam Mackey header from a delightful corner from Josh. Some how just before halftime Tramore took the lead again after a comedy of errors in our own box.
2nd half saw Tramore came out the stronger and went 3-1 up through another poor goal given away.
We had to make a few positional changes and in the last 15 mins pulled the game back with goals from Conor Walsh and Liam Mackey. We were on top and looked like we might nick the victory only for Tramore to catch us on the break in the last few minutes to send us out of the cup.
Very disappointing and frustrating for this side but Tramore were slightly better on the day. MoM in this one again is Anil Ramaswamy who is becoming a real team leader playing in multiple roles again today.
Congratulations to our 3 girls, Emily Blackmore, Ella Bailey and Sommer Grant on helping Waterford u16 development squad win the Munster Plate today in Killarney.
Hotshot Emily continued her good form with another goal today.
Our final 5 entries are facing in to the last weekend of the Premier league season with much anticipation as a €1000 is up for grabs and the picks of all 5 are in early.
