A convincing win but the lads did not have things all their own way against the Seasiders.
A Mikey Cronin corner which went straight to the net had us ahead but Tramore bounced back and nicked two goals.
Stephen Brennan levelled things up with a cracking free kick and they went in at half time all square.
There was a rip roaring start to the second half with young Josh Mcloughlin terrorising the Tramore defence and it was Josh who nicked his well deserved goal to make it 3-2 with a lovely finish. Mikey Cronin was starting to dominate midfield and his powerful running paid off when he won a penalty and stood up and slotted home. Chances were coming with every attack but Tramore kept breaking and went close a couple of times as well. Mikey Cronin went on a great run up the left wing after a Josh Mcloughlin effort was saved and Mikey gleefully notched another to claim his first Hat Trick. A great game to watch with two sides attacking at will.

4th Division Cup Result: Mooncoin Celtic 1 Johnville 1
Johnville win 5-4 on penalties.
The curtain came down on the over 35s season and they can count themselves extremely unlucky to exit the cup. The evergreen Mickey Comerford got the goal but unfortunately the dreaded penalty shoot out saw the lads exit.
The older boys should be proud of their season which promised so much but an horrendous run of injuries coupled with long breaks between games did not help things. A big thank you must go to JJ Holden for his patience with the group, not an easy job juggling all the injuries. To the players, they trained away every Wednesday continuously since last August regardless of weather and deserved more for their efforts.
WSFL Under 14C League Bohemians C 1 vs Mooncoin Celtic 5
We travelled to Waterford City to play against a Bohs team who won the game in Mooncoin earlier in the season. We had depleted numbers and travelled with only 11 players. Those 11 players played out of their skins from start to finish.
Adam Conway put in his best performance in goal and never looked phased. Our back four is where we were missing the numbers but the combination of Mikey Cronin, Tom Conway, Mike O’Keeffe and Denis Kinsella kept out some very good attacking play from the opposition. Communication is an area where we have always struggled but the lads nailed it today and every man was on stand by for every ball. Alex Bailey ran his normal amount of mileage today and covered every blade of grass as the holding midfielder. Daniel Roberts put in a no stopping performance and ran all day and won the ball on Many occasions. Lee Freyne’s ability to pass the ball was immense again today. He set up 3 of the 5 goals. Eoin O’Callaghan played as a brilliant foil to that and it was he was there for every tackle. Sam Hartwell is terrorizing defences since his return and he opened the scoring with a well taken goal. Sam added his second later on in the second half. But the day belonged to New Ross man Sean Lennon who put in a man of the match performance with a hatrick. Of which his first goal was a beautiful finish after beating 3 or 4 players and tucking the ball away in the top corner. Another 3 great points for this team who go from strength to strength. Well done lads! Excellent team performance..
LMS Update
A couple of fallers last night due to Leicester’s slip up.
27 of the remaining participants have gone with Spurs against Huddersfield so it could be an interesting day if Huddersfield do the unthinkable!
Good luck to the Cafferkey family
This week we said goodbye and good luck to the Cafferkey family before they depart for Australia.
