A disappointing result for our lads who spent the second half in the bohs half but couldn’t get the break through to nick the three points.

U11A Boys League:
U11D Boyd League: Hibs 4 – 0 Mooncoin Celtic
Disappointing result and it did not reflect a decent performance by all 16 boys on duty. This season has been a tough learning curve for a lot of the boys stepping up to competitive league football for the first time.
U17 Girls Munster Shield Semi Final: Mooncoin Celtic 2 – 4 Lakewood
We welcomed Lakewood from Cork to Suir Crescent for a Munster semi final and an absolute cracker of a match was played out.
15 seconds on the clock and Lakewood were celebrating the opener. Our girls quickly settled and started getting on top and were rewarded when Emily Blackmore hit a superb half volley from 25 yards out on the 15 minute mark.
Half time came with the score staying the same thanks to a wonder save from Alannah Tobin just on half time. Lakewood broke early in the second period and scored a good goal to steal ahead but back came our girls when Ella Brennan headed home the equaliser to wild celebrations. Extra time looked likely with little between the two sides but a long ball out of defence sent the lakewood number 9 clear and she slipped in a 3rd goal with 2 minutes left on the clock.
On the full time whistle, a corner was poked home to send Lakewood through to the Munster final. Hugely disappointing result but what a brilliant performance from all 11 on duty with outstanding games put in by all. Best of luck to Lakewood in the final.
U12C Boys League: Tramore 4 – 1 Mooncoin Celtic
Ethan captained the side today and the lads showed a great attitude and work rate against Tramore.
They came close on occasion and the delivery from set pieces was exceptional from Tadhg, TJ and Ethan throughout. In the end the difference was that Tramore were more clinical with their finishing and the lads were punished for small lapses especially late on as they pushed forward for a goal.
They got one at least with the last kick of the game when Dylan had a tap in after a parried shot from the opposition keeper. A disappointing result after some fine individual performances. 4-1 final score.
LMS Update
19 headed in to Week 5 hoping for an easy passage but already we have lost a few. The following were the Selections for this weekend :
Man City 5, Man Utd 3, Tottenham 6, Everton 1, Bournemouth 1, Liverpool 1, Crystal Palace 2.
We have lost 7 so far this weekend and 8 through to Week 6 so far.
U11D Boys League: Mooncoin Celtic 1 – 4 Ballyduff
An unfortunate start from the lads saw them 4-1 down at half time today. A much improved second half saw them get plenty chances but it wasn’t to be. They also defended very well when put under pressure.
The scoreline doesn’t reflect how the lads played today so we are going to stay positive heading into the next game.
U11F Boys League: Mooncoin Celtic 1 – 3 Villa
Liam was captain against a very physical Villa side today and the boys were really up for the fight first half creating plenty of chances through Tom, Billy, Donncha and Liam.
Villa had chances of their own however and took the lead through a fortuitous goal however. The boys responded immediately with Tom finishing from close range after great wingplay down the left from Billy.
A disappointing opening to the second half saw the lads concede 2 preventable goals and they struggled to get into the game thereafter. 3-1 to the visitors.
U11A Boys: Mooncoin Celtic 1 – 0 Carrick United
A tight game in windy conditions was played out this afternoon and one goal was always going to be the difference between the two sides.
Carrick with their tricky forwards were always dangerous in the first half and Tyler Kelly was excellent with his handling throughout the first period when the pressure was on.
Second half saw our boys stamp their authority on the game and a superb finish from Ryan Sutton was to prove to be the winner. Excellent squad performance again with all contributing to a good win.
50-50 Winner for bumper Easter draw

Remembering Rocky
Today marks 5 years since this man, our dear friend Rocky left us way too soon.
A colourful, warm and funny character who loved the chat and the banter with everyone he encountered. We know he’d be a happy man seeing his beloved Man Utd back near the top of the table and knowing Rocky, he’d be even more delighted with seeing Liverpool struggling these days. A great Mooncoin Celtic man, gone but certainly not forgotten
