A year ago today, we lost Kate Corcoran at the tender age of 21. Kate was and always will be one of our own, as she was one of the original girls that took to the pitch with our Ladies team in their first season three years ago. We will keep the Corcoran and Grant families in our thoughts and prayers as always, especially today. That smile along with her colourful language is missed at every training session and match by Kate’s teammates and coaches.
During the summer we held a tournament in Kate’s memory and raised funds for Epilepsy Ireland and this gave great comfort and solace to Kate’s family and as a club we plan on making the tournament annual event where fun and the colour blue is to the forefront in memory of our dear Kate. π

Congratulations Bradley
Massive congratulations to our very own Bradley Nolan, who has been selected for this season’s Waterford u15 development squad . A top class goalkeeper with a superb attitude who leads in every single way in training and on match day and had been very busy in recent months training with our 1B squad and shadowing Eric Conway at every opportunity. A boy with a huge future and a role model for all our players, we are very lucky to have him within our club.
Good luck Daniel
The very best of luck to Waterford FC U15s who play Bohemians in the Shield Final tomorrow at 2pm in the SETU Arena. One of our own former academy players will be marshalling the midfield for Waterford and all in Mooncoin Celtic wish Daniel Ponce de Leon the best of luck. Daniel is the classic example of where hard work can get you once you put in the time and effort on the training ground. Daniel has been getting back to top form recently after a spell on the sidelines and produced a man of the match performance in the semi final against Dundalk. π€ For ππ₯ tomorrow evening.
Congratulations Emmet
All in Mooncoin Celtic send congratulations to our u17 player Emmet Cusack who became a double European Karate champion recently in Poland, this follows on from becoming the British champion a few weeks before. π₯π₯π₯
Well done all
Massive well done to our three representatives in the Waterford Schoolgirls Development squads, Sophie Phelan at u16, Hannah Dobbyn at u14 and Molly Walsh at u13. All three played their first games recently and will fly the flag in future games. We also have JP Byrne and Ritchie Lynch involved as coaches with the u13 squad.

U15 Boys League Tramore 2 Mooncoin Celtic 3
Thursday evening saw our u15 Boys on the road again. This time out to the seaside to play Tramore. Following on from our 2 previous games that we played exceptionally well but lost the pressure was on us to stop the cycle.
We started very quickly out of the traps and were a goal up after one minute through Robbie Sutton(although James disputes this claiming the goal for himself). Dubious goals committee can decide on the scorer π.
Then on 3 minutes Tramore sucker punched us with an equaliser. On 20 minutes Tramore got a second goal. Our lads kept their heads are were very unlucky not to be level or even ahead at the break having hit the woodwork a couple of times. Mooncoin pushed from the start in the second half. And our persistence paid off on 52 minutes when Robbie scored an equaliser. The game was frantic from then on with both sides trying to win it but even more afraid to lose it. Bradley pulled off some super saves as the game came to it’s climax. Our boys pushed and pushed and the work and effort paid off when Will Mcloughlin poked home the winner for Celtic with the last kick of the game. The lads fully deserved the win to get us off the mark for the season.
Our next game is on Saturday week 19th October away to Bohs.
