A rip roaring cup tie was played out in glorious conditions in Suir Crescent with the dreaded shoot out having to separate the two teams. Jim equalised late on in normal time with a cracker of a free kick to force extra time where we again went behind before Eric scrambled home a last minute finish. Jim, Liam and Charlie stuck their penalties away to see us through to next Saturday’s semi final away to Bohs.

Tycor 1
A third consecutive draw keeps the lads unbeaten after 4 games but they’ll be cursing their poor finishing throughout. Tycor scored with a scrappy finish on half time but the pressure eventually paid off with free kick from James Blackmore squeezing over the line with 6 minutes to go. Good performances on the day from centre back pairing Cillian Dobbyn and Stephen Wall and a non stop 90 minutes from Kevin Sweeney.

Yes, another cup tie and another penalty shootout but this time we were on the wrong end of it. Goals from Rebecca and Molly during the game forced this all the way and even three penalties saved by Antonina was not enough as Tramore go through. This group have been improving hugely with every game and deserve huge credit for a great performance.

Remembering Rocky

Today marks 7 years since this colourful character left us. Coach Rocky who played a big role in the development of so many kids playing soccer in Mooncoin over the years. Still missed around the club, the village and especially walking up and down that hill to the Heights with shades on and a smile and a wave and the odd funny comment for those he came across.
