A rip roaring cup tie was played out in glorious conditions in Suir Crescent with the dreaded shoot out having to separate the two teams. Jim equalised late on in normal time with a cracker of a free kick to force extra time where we again went behind before Eric scrambled home a last minute finish. Tycor 1
A third consecutive draw keeps the lads unbeaten after 4 games but they’ll be cursing their poor finishing throughout. Tycor scored with a scrappy finish on half time but the pressure eventually paid off with free kick from James Blackmore squeezing over the line with 6 minutes to go. Good performances on the day from centre back pairing Cillian Dobbyn and Stephen Wall and a non stop 90 minutes from Kevin Sweeney.

Yes, another cup tie and another penalty shootout but this time we were on the wrong end of it. Goals from Rebecca and Molly during the game forced this all the way and even three penalties saved by Antonina was not enough as Tramore go through. This group have been improving hugely with every game and deserve huge credit for a great performance.

Tom ‘Dixie’ Conway was one of the men who kickstarted schoolboys soccer in the club back in the 70s and put huge hours in to providing soccer for so many kids in our club. The club were delighted when the Conway family gave the OK for honouring Tom in such a manner. His son Brendan and daughter Jacqueline were present this morning to mark the occasion with a nice few photos. Great fun was had for the hour with happy faces going home. Our two player of the week winners Tomás D and Cathal W were presented with their trophies by new academy Co-ordinator Celina Kinsella who had things running very smoothly throughout. Big thank you to all that helped this morning and we look forward to seeing all the stars of our Dixie Dribblers Academy next week.
