U18 Girls League Carrick utd 1 Mooncoin Celtic 2

Mooncoin travelled to Carrick yesterday for an u18 girls fixture ,and left Tom Drohan Park with all three points on Offer .
We started the game well moved the ball very well , getting our heads up and making some good passes . We scored on the 20 minute mark when Sommer took a corner sending the ball in , with Molly long making sure it made its way to the back of the net . And saw a second added on 35 minutes when Sarah walsh threaded a beaut of a ball to Ella Brennan who took her chance and slotted home.
The second half saw our goalie Grace O Toole take a spill and unable to see the remainder of the Game out . Emily Blackmore was on hand and donned the goalie gloves , and we continued with the game . Some sloppy defensive work saw us conseed a goal from a carrick corner , which made for another exciting and nail biting finish to the game .
On the whole our back Four did a superb job. Working together at all times . Everyone one of the girls who took part today gave it their all ,and were rewarded at the full time whistle taking away all three points

1B League Result Mooncoin Celtic 2 Park Rangers 3

A slow start again saw us two down after 15 minutes with two rebounds tucked away. We did settle down and pulled a goal back on 20 minutes but were dealt a major set back with a straight red card dished out for a late challenge. We equalised on 30 minutes through Adam Conway with an excellent finish from 25 yards. Our ten men worked tirelessly for the entire second half but a soft free kick with 10 minutes to go saw Park Rangers grab the 3 points.

U14 Girls SFAI Cup First Round Result Curracloe Utd 1 Mooncoin Celtic 1
Curracloe won 4-2 on penalties aet

Disgraceful weather in Curracloe today for a noon kick off. You wouldn’t put the ducks out in it but by God did these two teams serve up a treat of a game and went toe to toe for 70 minutes before another 20 minutes of extra time before the dreaded penalties saw Curracloe get through. A mighty performance by all on duty with Ciara Lynch getting the goal to put us one up but Curracloe showed their class with a good finish of their own. Big thank you to all who travelled and put up with shocking conditions.
Best of luck to Curracloe United in the next round and thanks for the refreshments afterwards in their fabulous clubhouse.

U15C League Result Tramore 6 Mooncoin Celtic 0

Last Thursday our U15s travelled to Graun Park to take on Tramore in their second league game of the season. Tramore scored early in first half followed by a second shortly after, by half time it was 4 -0 to the home team. Another two quick early goals in the second half left us trailing 6-0. However, we gave everything in the second half which was a much better performance – Ella, Jake and Cathal were outstanding and were unlucky not to score. Bradley pulled off some saves in the goal too despite everything.
