Girls u18 League Tramore 2 Mooncoin Celtic 3

Mooncoin got off to a dream start collecting all three points on offer in Tramore yesterday morning .
Our Back four worked very well together managing to keep the Tramore threat at bay . With Goalie Grace O Toole on hand to clear up anything that found its way through .
It took us a while to find our groove , but we had a breakthrough on the 20 minute mark when Sarah Walsh slotted home to give us the lead . There was some great passages of play from both teams before Sarah doubled our lead 5 minutes before halftime.
Some changes at half-time freshened up the squad , and we found the net again at the midway point , when persistence paid off and Aoibhe Rees finished to the back of the net . A resilient Tramore clawed back two goals which made the remainder of the game very exciting to watch . But again , our back four stepped up and did the necessary to keep the scoreline in our favour .

Under 16c League Seaview Celtic 2 vs Mooncoin Celtic 1

Encouraging performance by the under 16 team today. Starting off the game in full control and heading into the half time break with a 1-0 lead. Very windy conditions played a huge factor today and the home team took advantage of it in the second half and added two early goals which was enough to win the day. However we bounced back and gave everything to try get the equalizer and would be forgiven to be going home disappointed without anything to show for it. A wild wind assisted goal from a corner which Liam M will claim for us. Big thank you to Laura Cody for all the help today and for everyone who turned out to support.

Munster Shield Result Lismore 5 Mooncoin Celtic 3

Christmas came early in picturesque Lismore this afternoon with a number of mistakes costing the boys dearly. 3-1 down at half time with Jason Sauvage pulling a goal back after two early gifts saw us chasing the game. Within 10 minutes of the restart, we clawed our way back in to the game with an og and absolute worldie from Joey O’Hanlon. Again, two lapses in the last 10 minutes cost us and Lismore go in to the next round.
