U12 Girls Result Southend 6 Mooncoin Celtic 4

No fewer than ten goals scored in this one. Southend started the strongest and notched an early goal. Our girls got themselves the equaliser soon after though.
Some good attacking play from Southend brought it to 3-1 at half time.
The girls gathered themselves at half time and scored three goals without reply to bring it to 3-4 in the second half. A late surge from our opposition finished the game at 6-4. A hat trick from Aoibhe V and one from Molly in this thoroughly entertaining and end to end game.

Ladies League: Villa 2 Mooncoin Celtic 1

We started the game brightly and took the lead with a great cross from Bethany Carroll that found Emily Blackmore who turned and finished with a great left foot finish into the bottom corner. The rest of the first half was a fairly evenly matched contest. In the 2nd half Villa came out sharper and got their reward with a good strike from distance after we failed to close down after clearing a corner. Villa then took all 3 points with a poor goal for us to concede. Both teams got what they deserved in the end.

U16 Girls Waterford Crystal 0 Mooncoin Celtic 5

This morning we took our largest group to date into play Waterford Crystal, with all girls getting valuable game time and every girl putting in a great effort for the team and each other. From the kick off our girls were in control of the game but with our opposition playing very defensively it took us a while to get a shot on target. The breakthrough eventually came after 22 minutes when the inform Áine Connery got on the score sheet.
We made a number of substitutions at halftime and after 10 minutes in the second half Áine struck again for her second on the day and her 7th in her last 3 starts(an amazing record). The third wasn’t long in coming with Ella Brennan getting in on the act. Midway through the half we claimed a fourth goal from Aoibhe Rees. We continued to press for more and the girls persistence paid off when Caoimhe Fanning scored the fifth and final goal. Our goalie and defence smothered any potential treat that came their way from a young and determined Crystal team who if they keep at it their day will come.Good day at the office. Well done girls

U11E League Result. Park Rangers 7- Mooncoin 2

We travelled to cheekpoint for our first game in 6 weeks minus a few players and got off to a terrible start leaving in a couple of soft goals and were 3 nill down after 5 minutes. A formation change and the game was more evenly balanced with Edmund pulling one back before the home team scored again.
Man of the match Billy M set up John joe to make it 4-2 but as we kept pushing for more goals we got punished with a few late goals.

U14 Girls Result Cappoquin 3 Mooncoin Celtic 3

A strong start by our girls in this one saw us dominating but unfortunately no end product and it was Cappoquin who opened the scoring against the run of play. This kicked our girls in to gear and goals from Lexi with 2 and Ciara saw us 3-1 up at half time. An even enough second half saw plenty of chances for both teams but it was Cappoquin who converted theirs to pull it back to 3-3. Disappointed not to secure the 3 points but we’ll take the point against tough opposition.

WSFL Under 16 C League
Mooncoin Celtic 1 Tramore C 4

Exciting game in Suir Crescent and we did well against a strong attacking team. The effort and performances
are not deserving of recent results but we kept going until the very end and we are improving every week. Firstly lets
say a huge congratulations to Bradley who has made the Waterford Development Squad and he showed on Saturday exactly why he
deserves it with another cracking display in goal saving many effots and a penalty also. We are finding our feet and some people are fitting in well into new positions and with some hard work on the training ground we
can turn this around once we can acquire a full squad for the games.Liam Mackey scored our goal from a free kick 30 yards out.
Some stand out performances on the day were from Cormac Fenton, Lucas Delahunty and Gavin Coady. Squad as follows
Bradley Nolan, Micheal Murphy, Cormac Fenton, Gavin Coady, Liam Mackey, Jake Clarke, Ben Buckley, Lucas Delahunty, Cillian Walshe,
Emmett Cusack, Marcos Cambra, Ben Dawson, Eoghan Drennan, Ross Cronin, Cian O’Leary.
